Our friends at Mulberry Lane Farm were greatly impacted by the Mountain Fire on November 6th. They are a wonderful organization that serve young adults with disabilities in our community while also providing locally grown fruits and vegetables in farmers markets.  

Much of their farm was lost in the fire, and so their programs are on pause until they are able to rebuild.  

Every year, we celebrate the persimmon through lessons with students through the Harvest of the Month Program.  Most of Mulberry Lane's persimmon crop is lost, however we can salvage the fruit by making holiday wreaths from dried persimmons, and provide some support to the Mulberry Lane Farm.

Join us for hot chocolate and wreath making on December 14th from 10am-noon in the Community Room at the Ventura County Community Foundation.  Thank you so much to VCCF for sponsoring this event and donating the room space so that all funds raised can benefit the farm.

Children are welcome, and we will have a Holiday card making station to make thank you cards for our local firefighters who worked so quickly to save lives and properties during the Mountain Fire.
